Mayya with host Deep Mission (deep in the 11 o’clock hour) this week. October 12.
A San Franciscan since age two, Mayya moved to the US with her parents all the way from St. Petersburg Russia and here she found a new world — an environment which has shaped her life, her world view and her songwriting.
This week on the show, host Deep Mission welcomes Mayya, with Joshua Cook (from Joshua Cook & The Key of Now), for a set and some conversation. The show will be starting fairly late, due to the Cal Football game against UCLA which will be carried live on KALX. The game starts at 7:30 PM, so we should have our show by around 11:15 PM, give or take.
You can hear some of Mayya’s tracks at her Reverbnation Page: http://www.reverbnation.com/mayyamusic
Tune in for our shortened show beginning right after Cal Sports gives you live coverage of the Bears-Bruins Football game.
Once our football team has done it’s thing, then we’ll do our thing. And of course our thing is finding a plethora of music-makers from all sorts of genres, and from all over the extended Bay Area, and then we serve your ears the music they’re making… live. Special sets just for KALX listeners. Live & local music for live & local (…and not-so-local) fans who listen in, either terrestrially at 90.7 fm, or online at kalx.berkeley.edu. We also share rarities from the vaults — our archives of live recordings. That’s what you’ve come to expect over the years, and we really love what we do.
We’re your “KALX Live!” show. Our passion for the music shows.
